New "Applied Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology" -- We'd love to hear from you!

Douglas College is developing an Applied Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology where students would first complete their Diploma or Associate of Arts in Criminology or related area, and would then complete the remaining third and fourth years in an area of specialization.

The applied degree blends theory and practice. Students will take foundational courses in theory and then a series of topical specialized courses in criminal justice. There will also be practicum and service learning opportunities where students will gain direct hands-on experience in chosen fields.

In developing this degree, we need a thorough understanding of the needs and interests of students. As high school counsellors, you have an important perspective that can help us to create the strongest possible offering. So, if you have students interested in taking a Criminology program, please take a moment to share your thoughts and suggestions with us!

If you would like more information about the program development process currently underway, please contact Carla Hotel at hotelc@douglas.bc.ca, or 604.527.5313.
